Connect the Module - Flapper Style (cont.)
Determine if the chain attached to the flapper is long enough to
reach to the module wheel attachment point when adding the
large clip. It the existing chain is long enough, attach the large
clip to the chain and wheel.
If the original chain is not long enough, remove the clip on the
original chain.
Connect the small clip on the suppled chain to the end of the
original chain. The attachment point may vary from the model
shown.
Pull the chain tight from the flapper to the wheel. Grasp the chain
link aligned with the connection point on the wheel.
Attach the large clip to the chain link even with the wheel
connection point.
Remove the large clip from the wheel, attach it to the marked
chain link, and reattach the large clip to the wheel.
Confirm Operation
Manually turn the wheel and observe the flapper.
For installations with the handle in place, confirm the handle
chain and module chain do not interfere with each other.
Confirm the chain and wheel do not contact the hose.
Confirm the chain does not wrap on the axle. Adjust the module
position to align the chain closer to vertical if the chain wraps on
the axle.
Confirm the flapper lifts clear of the tank outlet when the chain
connection on the wheel is at the highest point.
Confirm the flapper is fully sealed when the wheel chain
attachment is at its lowest point.
Adjust the clip and add or remove slack if needed.
Remove Extra Chain
Go two chain links past the connection to the large clip and cut
the chain.
NOTE: Leaving more than two chain links hanging below the
wheel connection could result in the chain interfering with the
wheel, causing poor operation or continuously running water.
