4. Install the K-1168 Whirlpool

NOTICE: Follow these required steps to install the K-1168 whirlpool.

Completely loosen the pump intake nut. Retain the O-ring if it is loose.

Completely loosen the two heater nuts. Retain the O-rings if they are loose.

Cut and remove the two pump banding straps.

Unplug the control cable from the pump control outlet.

Lift the pump motor and heater assembly out of the area.

NOTICE: Do not lift the whirlpool by the piping or pump, or use the piping or pump for structural

support of the whirlpool. To avoid damage to the whirlpool, lift at the sides of the whirlpool.

With help, carefully position the whirlpool in the drop-in cutout. Tilt the whirlpool as needed so the

pump end enters the cutout ﬁrst.

Secure the whirlpool to the subﬂoor as described in ″Secure the Whirlpool to the Subﬂoor.″

Reposition the pump motor and heater assembly.

Be sure the O-rings are in place, and securely hand tighten the pump intake and heater nuts.

Plug the control cable into the pump control outlet.

Tilt the whirlpool so the pump end enters the cutout first.
