6. Install the Receptor

Move the receptor into position. Verify proper ﬁt.

Fit the drain into the trap. Do not connect the trap at this time.

Be sure the bottom of the receptor is ﬁrmly supported by the ﬂoor.

The basin area requires no additional support when the subﬂoor is plumb and level with respect to

the stud framing. If the subﬂoor is not level, shimming may be required to level the receptor.

Check that the receptor is level. The receptor must be level to ensure proper installation.

For alcove installations: Leave a small air gap between the receptor rim and the 2x4. Seal the gap

with silicone sealant. See illustration.

Complete the drain installation according to the instructions packed with the drain.

Install the ﬁnal stud wall.

If not already installed, install the supplies and shower valving at this time. See “Install the

Plumbing” section.

Open the water supplies and check all the connections for leaks.

Run water into the receptor and check the drain connections for leaks.
